Pupil Premium Grant Information for Aslacton Primary School April 2015- March 2016

The following information shows the use and impact of the DFE’s Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) awarded to Aslacton Primary School for the support of pupils who are in receipt of free school meals, have received free school meals within the last 6 years, are looked after children or are services children and may be at a disadvantage in some way as a result of this.

Based on the January 2015 census the April 2015-2016 Pupil Premium Grant for the year was £10,560. In addition we brought forward £3,220 which came to a total of £13,720 This included funding for the support of 13 pupils who were on free school meals and one child who had received them within the past six years (FSM6), and £3,800 for children who have been in care, are in care, or are under guardianship.

This is how the money was spent-

·         % of salary for additional Key Stage 2 teacher

·         % contracted Intervention hours

·         1 to 2 Speech and Language support

·         non-contracted Intervention hours

·         Writing club

·         Resources/contingency should a child join the school during the year requiring intervention support

The impact was-

·         Smaller class sizes in key Stage 2 for the majority of the week

·         We employed staff in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 for additional hours to support pupils before school begins, after school and during certain parts of the day.

·         We have had a significant number of children joining the school this year who qualified for Pupil premium support and we have been able to put in place additional support for them.

·         Whilst writing is improving for Pupil Premium pupils in EYFS and Key Stage 1, it remains a focus for our intervention activities.

·         The majority of Pupil Premium pupils are making good progress.
